Delete your FreeTTS account

You can delete your account and its data at any time, with or without the app. Deletion is permanent.

Three ways to delete it

On the website

1. Sign in at freetts.org/login with the account you want to delete.

2. Open Dashboard → Privacy.

3. Under Danger zone, choose Delete my account and confirm.

In the FreeTTS app (iPhone or Android)

Open Account → Delete account and recordings and confirm.

By email

Write to [email protected]from the email address of the account and ask us to delete it. We delete it and reply to confirm. We only act on requests sent from the account's own address.

What is deleted

  • Your account and your sign-in (email and password, Google or Apple).
  • Your generation history and the text stored with it, your favorites and settings.
  • Your saved books, Studio projects, pronunciation lists and video jobs.
  • Your transcripts and recordings, your API keys, support tickets and feedback.
  • Your usage records on our side.

Generated audio files are removed from our servers on their normal cycle: free files within an hour, paid files within 30 days. Files you downloaded to your own device stay there until you delete them.

What is kept, and for how long

  • Payment records. If you paid, the record of the payment is kept by us and by the company that processed it (Stripe, Freemius, Apple or Google) for as long as tax and accounting law requires, usually up to 7 years. We never hold card details.
  • Backups and server logs. Our database backups and server logs are deleted on a rolling basis within 14 days, so traces of your account disappear from them within 14 days of deletion.

Subscriptions

Deleting your account on the website or in the app stops a subscription bought on freetts.org at the end of its current period. A subscription bought in the iPhone app is billed by Apple, and one bought in the Android app is billed by Google Play: cancel those in your Apple ID settings or in the Google Play Store under Payments and subscriptions. Deleting the account does not cancel Apple or Google billing.
